Basic Life Support (BLS) training reinforces healthcare professionals’ understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.

* This is an introduction to the compression/ventilation rate and ratio for a patient who has an advanced airway in place. Student Textbooks are not included in the tuition. Students should order the current 2015 BLS for Healthcare Providers textbook, study and bring the textbook with you to class. (eBooks are also available at

BLS for Prehospital Providers

Basic Life Support for Prehospital Providers (BLS PHP) is the first of its kind in the AHA’s lifesaving training portfolio, designed specifically to meet the needs of the EMS market.

BLS PHP consists of classroom components, in-classroom training improves learning and gives the students and opportunity to ask questions and get feedback. This allows for greater outcomes in the field.

While tailored for prehospital providers, this course covers the same objectives as BLS for Healthcare Providers, and successful completion results in a BLS for Healthcare Providers course completion card.

Primary Audience: Prehospital, emergency care professionals including emergency medical technicians (EMTs), police officers, fire fighters, paramedics and advanced EMTs (AEMTs)

Secondary Audience: Athletic trainers, any/all other first responders


Bloodborne Pathogens

Tuition: $50

This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens (BBP) training when paired with site-specific instruction.
